About Flying Candies

Meet the Artist

Hi, I’m Lingzhi, the artist and founder behind Flying Candies. After years of exploring art through porcelain, glass, and digital media, I created Flying Candies as a home for the small ideas that make everyday life a little brighter.

I grew up in Jingdezhen — the porcelain capital of China — in a family where clay was simply part of daily life. I was always fascinated by how soft clay could be transformed by fire into something solid and lasting.

Later, on my own path as an artist, I discovered glass. Though different from ceramics, glass drew me in for a similar reason — how it could soften and flow with heat, then become solid again as it cooled, while still allowing light to pass through.

Working with porcelain and glass taught me something I’ve always loved: even seemingly fragile things can last for generations when cared for. It made me think about what else an object might hold beyond its physical form — a little warmth, a memory, or a quiet sense of companionship that stays with us over time.

That thought became the beginning of Flying Candies. Our journey begins with porcelain.

Each piece starts as an idea — a moment of freedom, comfort, or connection — before it becomes something you can hold. Through design, experimentation, and patience, these ideas slowly take shape as playful, thoughtful objects.

They’re more than objects on a shelf. They’re quiet companions — for people who notice the little things, who find beauty in unexpected places, or who simply need a moment of calm in a busy day.

Like candy, each one brings a touch of sweetness and joy. Not to impress anyone — just something gentle to come home to.
